Halloween is something else entirely, though, and much of that is to do with the behind-the-scenes talent.
Writer/director M. Night Shyamalan made his name with it and has never quite stepped out of its shadow.
In the wrong hands, Charlie Kauffmans screenplay would come off as confusing or overly misanthropic.
But you were, so you know what Im talking about.
The cinematography here is stunning, with every single framing feeling and looking like a mini work of art.
The genre-defying masterpiece begins as something like a dark comedy before becoming something not unlike a horror movie.
