Ultimately, they arentthatuseful, but some folks will find them fun to mess around with.

Apple has also redesigned how the Phone app itself looks.

When you make a call now, youll see many of the buttons have moved locations.

Theyre all situated at the bottom of the call screen now instead of towards the middle.

Messages improvements

Im a big fan of the changes Apple made to Messages.

For starters, the way you access Stickers, Emoji, and Images in Messages has changed.

Another change is how Messages handles autocorrect now.

Apple says iOS now learns from what you punch in, so autocorrect shouldnt kick in incorrectly as frequently.

you’re able to also now create your own sticker from any photo.

If you like having a ton of information at your fingertips, though, it can be really handy.

Id love to see more features included in Standby.

But for now, its a solid place to start.

It can even recognize different brands and sort them where they belong.

The Shortcuts homepage now shows some premade options, and the new layout is a bit more welcoming.

However, with the layout being more welcoming, I might have to try them out a bit more.

As with any iOS update, iOS 17 also has some big features that havent been released just yet.

The biggest example is the new Journal app, which Im particularly interested in.

If youre sporting an iPhone XS or newer, you could download iOS 17 right now.

Pros:

Message and Phone app changes add better functionality.

Live Voicemail is a fantastic addition that I wish we had sooner.

Even the smallest changes feel meaningful.

Cons:

Journal app isnt available at release.

Lack of big, shiny features might disappoint some.
