Im sure you do, too, so Ive prepared a step-by-step guide to summoning otherworldly entities.
Since this is our first demonic summoning, were not going to start by commanding Lucifer.
Instead, well summon a modest, generic spirit into a glass.
(The book is, incidentally, the original source of the magic word Abracadabra!)
With that out of the way, lets summon something!
Summoning a spirit into a glass
Step one:Gather your supplies.
Step three:Recite the oration.
Stand over your glass and recite the following Latin aloud.
It goes on like that for alooooongtime.
Step four:Recite the consecration.
Step five:Put five drops of olive oil in the glass like a rose.
Step six: More latin.
Say, discendat in hoc speculum virtus spiritus sancti… etc.Check the source.
Step seven:Spread the five drops of oil on your thumbs and make a cross.
Step eight:More Latin!
Step nine:Make a sufflation (?)
and say discendat in hoc speculum [ut] supra.
(A nice short one.)
Step 10: Wash the glass with wine, holy water, and pieces of white bread.
Step 11:Put everything in the firethe glass, table, towel, everything.
This will assist the spirit in some unspecified way.
But you wont hear him/them/it.
Step 13:Recite more Latin.
Step 14:Soon after your final Latin recitation, an otherworldly spirit should be visible and audible.
The aftermath of your ritual
So, how did your ritual go?
Got a new friend to hang out with?
If so, controlling it could be an issue.
Sadly, my ceremony didnt work.
Maybe I mispronounced discendat.
Or it might be a problem with the entire concept of summoning demons.
Like you see in horror movies.
For that, you have fast-forward to early Christianity.
In it, an angel gives Solomon a ring inscribed with a pentagram.
Solomon uses his magic ring to compel Beelzebub and other demons to build his temple.
Solomon doesnt enter a pact with these demons though.
He is portrayed as a holy man acting in accordance with Gods will, enslaving demons through His power.
Importantly, it portrays practitioners of mystical spell-casting and demon-evokers as enslaved to Evil.
Fake or not, a lot people died for real because ofHammer of Witches.
Written/collected in 1563 by physician Johan Weyer, these volumesdescribe 69 demons (nice!)
and their hellish hierarchy, as well as offers tips on how to summon them.
He doesnt quite make the leap to The witch-hunter types made this shit up, though.
Close, but no cigar.
Either way,False Monarchy of Demonsispackedwith cool demons.
Evil, however,isntfake.
It keeps popping up.
In summation: There is no point to summoning demons because hell is other people.
