Heres a pop quiz.

You drop your phone.

When you pick it up, you notice that youve shattered the screen.

Weve all been there.

Its no fun to shatter your phones screen.

And thats probably what Dominique is experiencing right now, in fact.

I cant hit the number I need to unlock it to load up.

I need my messages!

Heres what you have to do: Look at your phones connector.

(Yes, using the male and female naming conventions feels incredibly outdated.)

Once youve done that, your phone should immediately recognize your mouse as an input machine.

How Do I Fix My Cracked iPhone Screen During the Shutdown?

Use it to email yourself whatever you might want to access on your phone.

The exact steps may vary for your Android.

(To save you time, here areLGs drivers.

I have a Pixel, so Ill need theSDK Platform Tools, and possibly theGoogle USB driver.)

Install them on your system.

Pull up a Command Prompt or Terminal, and navigate to whatever folder housesadb.exe.

(I dont have an LG phone, so I cant test this out for you.

For what its worth, theadb.exefile can be easily found after unzipping the SDK Platform Tools.)

From there, try enteringadb rebootand pressing Enter.

Nothing will happen unless youve already authorized ADB to be able to access your phone.

That way, should disaster ever strike again, you canalsouse ADB tomake a backupof your gadget.

Honestly, making sure your phone is always backed up via Googles tools/services is probably your best bet.

And, of course, see to it you always have copies of anything you store on your Android.

You never know when your phone might next want to take a leap of faith right onto the floor.
