Creating an account
Setting up your Bluesky account is quite easy.

Key in your email address, set a password, add your birthdate, and clickNext.
Your Bluesky account is now set up.
The process is similar if you download Bluesky’s apps foriPhoneorAndroid.
Tomove your old posts from X to Bluesky, you could use a Chrome extension calledPorto.
It’ll import most of your tweets, but it excludes retweets or quoted tweets.
That’s probably good enough for most people.
There’s another button calledAnybody can interactand you should select it to choose your audience for posts.
Alt textis an important feature if you want your posts to be accessible to low-vision users.
Once you’ve liked 10 posts, your feed will be adjusted to reflect your taste.
However, the real fun is in setting up your own feeds.

You’ll want to use advanced search operators to zero in on content youre looking for.

The service defaults to English and hides posts in other languages from your feed.

In the app, this page is under thethree-lines menu > parameters > Languages.
SelectContent Languagesand add all the languages that you speak.
Go toBluesky controls > Moderation > Moderation Liststo create these lists.
While Bluesky allows you to block these accounts in one click, I recommend muting them instead.
Your post will disappear from theirs, and their comment will disappear from your feed.
This lets you filter out most kinds of triggering content and keep your feed calmer.
