So, you cant make it home for Thanksgiving.
Its probably way better than real Thanksgiving with the family, anyway.
Emphasis on the latter.
You cannot do this alone.
Okay, maybe you might, but you shouldnt have to!
If theres something specific someone absolutely must have, theyre responsible for providing it.
For example, I dont like homemade cranberry sauce.
I refuse to eat it.
I only want the canned stuff.
So, I always bring it to a Friendsgiving, even if somebody else is bringing a homemade version.
I know, bad for the environment, but only do it just this once.
Say youre thankful for Mother Earth and shell forgive you.
Instead of a drink, that same person brings a few bags of ice.
Make It a Party, Not a Meal
Look, youre with your friends now.
Let your hair down, have a stiff drink, and get everybody in a good, fun mood.
Put out everyones dishes and let people eat what they want when they want.
If need be, offer places to sleep for those desperate to nap.
While youre at it, do something that will make this Thanksgiving special too.
Whatever you do, do notI repeat, do notlet everyone skip out on it.
The trick to this is assigning people a jobbeforethe party starts.
you’re free to even set up a signup list in your invite.
Spread out the work evenly and youll get it done quickly.
Again, you shouldnt be doing anything alone throughout this whole experience.
If you and your buddies can manage that, youll never want to go home again.
