Happy Samsung Galaxy Note 10 release day!
So, weve done the hard work for you.
Take your new Galaxy Note 10 out of the box; it should already have a charge.
It keeps your screen safe from scratches and its already perfectly placed on your rig.
I absolutely recommend not skipping this, because…why wouldnt you want to slide in your wifi credentials?
Youll then be asked to sign into your Google account.
you could skip this until later if you want.
(I picked the latter.)
Youll then have to set up your devices securitya critical component.
Youll then be asked to sign into yourSamsungaccount, if you want.
I didnt, because I was getting sick of typing in passwords at this point.
Also, do I even have a Samsung account?
Finally, your Galaxy Note 10 is ready for you to use it.
Crack your knuckles, lets begin setting it upfor real.
Yes, your deviceshouldupdate them automatically anyway, but Im impatient.
I then pull up the parameters app and visit Software Update, toward the bottom.
And the prefs app is full of menus within menus within menus.
Turn the option on, and then tap it.
Switch from Cellular preferred to Wi-Fi preferred.
Its five-note pattern is a bit long for my tastes, especially when youre getting blasted with notifications.
Enable Dolby Atmos:By default, Dolby Atmos is off on your machine.
Try it out and see if you like it via Advanced sound prefs > Sound quality and effects.
you could find this option via Advanced sound options > Sound quality and effects.
you could then tap the gear icon to get a preview of what your devices adjustments will sound like.
Tap Do not Disturb > Turn on as scheduled to get started.
I find the Repeat callers option useful, in case someone is trying to reach you with urgent news.
Colors will look a lot more vibrant, though some users dont like the artificial feel.
Give it a try and see if it improves your experience.
However, it supports a screen resolution as high as 3040-by-1440.
You might not even be able to perceive a quality difference between the FHD+ and WQHD+ resolutions.
Adjust everything on your Home screen:This ones a biggie.
Tap on Edge Screen > Edge lighting > Edge lighting style to get started.
it’s possible for you to also change the order of the buttons themselves.
Youll find this setting at the bottom of the Display options.
If youre on your Lock screen, youll only need to swipe left and right on the clock/date.
Pretty up your lock screen:Tap on Dynamic Lock screen to give it some style.
Each time you turn the screen on, youll have a different image to look at.
Pin apps to the screen when you let your friends use your phone:I love this feature.
Tap on Other security tweaks, and then scroll to the very bottom until you see Pin windows.
Tap that, and then turn the feature on.
Its an S Pen party.
Pick Delete shared screenshots to save yourself a step by nuking anything youve snapped after you share it.
Try it out, see if you like it, and switch back if you cant stand the enhancements.
Tap Send SOS messages to enable thisincrediblyuseful featurethat youll hopefully never have to use.
Digital wellbeing
Force yourself to get ready for bed: I love Digital wellbeings Wind down feature.
Tap on Auto optimization to ensure your phone is running its little storage- and memory-clearing routine each day.
This is probably overkill for most people, but restarting your gear slightly more oftenisnt the worst approach.
There are still plenty more configuration options buried on your gadget that are absolutely worth knowing about.
Long-press on your home screen, swipe to the right, and disable it.
Give it a shotpun unintendedto confirm your camera stays focused on that which youre trying to capture.
Now, whenever you say some annoying saying to your Camera applike Cheeseit will take a picture.
Phone
Pull up the phone app and tap on the triple-dot icon in the upper-right corner.
From there, tap on prefs.
If a caller isnt on your contact list, they go to voicemail.
It sure beats having to deal with robocall crap all the time.
After that, tap on Emergency alerts and enable or disable whatever you want.
