Buying games from an online marketplace like Steam has a lot of advantages over physical media.
Its instant, there are frequent discounts, and the data is easy to manage.
As with the old system, all the games in your account are shared, and you cant choose.
So if youre playingPortaland someone else is playingHalf-Lifefrom the shared library, it will all still work seamlessly.
This can be done directly on the Steam app.
Go toSteam controls, and from the sidebar, choose theInterfaceoption.
Here, find theClient Beta Participationoption, and in the dropdown, switch to theSteam Families Betaoption.
A popup will ask you to restart the Steam client.
ClickRestart Now, and wait as Steam downloads and installs the beta update.
And thats it, youre now good to go.
Click your account name from the top-right corner of the Steam app, and chooseAccount configs.
ChooseFamily Managementfrom the sidebar, and click theCreate A Familybutton.
Give your family a nice name, and click theCreatebutton.
Now that the Family is created, click theInvite a Memberbutton.
Next, clickSearch Friend Listto open up your friend list.
Here, choose the friend profile that you want to add.
Choose if you would like to add the user as anAdultor aChild.
You will also be able to control their screen time.
Next, click theInvitebutton from the popup to confirm.
And now, you wait.
Your friend will get a notification in the Steam app and in their email.
This happens by default, and you cant choose which games you want to share.
Click theFiltersicon next to search and from the bottom, use theFriendsoption.
Here, enter a friends name, and start the search.
It will now show you only the shared games that are owned by that friend.
How do I share Steam games and play at the same time?
Two users in the same shared Steam library cannot play the same game at the same time.
To do that, two people in the shared Steam Library will need to own a copy each.
Can you play Steam games on 2 different computers at the same time?
But again, the restrictions are applied.
You cant play the same game as someone else is playing.

Can two people use the same Steam account?
Two people cant use the same account.
Its limited to one user.
Can you play Steam shared games offline?
Games from someone elses Steam library will still work offline on your gear.
