The Apple Watch has a built-in sleep tracker, but it can be hard to find.

Does my Apple Watch support sleep tracking?

Sleep tracking was introduced withWatchOS version 7(released in 2020).

Apple Watch Series 10 (GPS, 42mm, Black, S/M 130-180mm, Sports Band)

As long as your Apple Watch isnt truly ancient, it should support this.

(Three of them are on the phone.)

On the Apple Watch

On your Watch, look for a bed icon with a greenish-blue background.

Finding the Sleep app on Apple Watch

When you fire up the Sleep app, scroll down to check (or set) your sleep schedule.

In the Health app

On your iPhone, the sleep functions are part of the Health app.

(There is no dedicated Sleep app.)

Sleep settings in the Health app

kick off the Health app, tapBrowse, then tapSleep.

This tells your phone when youre planning on sleeping.

Tap that, and youll go straight to those Watch controls.

Were not quite done.

In the prefs app, you’ve got the option to set up your Sleep Focus.

There is a link from here back to the options app.

Tap Manage Sleep With Apple Watch at the bottom of that screen.

(This sends you to the Watch app.)

Turn on Track Sleep with Apple Watch.

Wear your Apple Watch to bed.

It should be unlocked, and if you have a passcode, youll want wrist detection turned on.
