Apple, like most of the tech giants, collects a lot of data about you.

How to get a copy of your Apple data

This parts easy.

Visit ApplesData and Privacy pageand authenticate into the site using your Apple ID.

Youll then be taken to a page where youll get to customize which data you want to receive.

Why wouldnt you want to see everything Apple has to offer?

If youd rather download lots of smaller files instead of a few bigger files, adjust accordingly.

punch the Complete request button to do just that, and get ready to wait.

Unlike its peers, Apple takes its sweet time to create this data archive.

This is not the kind of thing you should expect to see a few hours after you request it.

Whats in your Apple data dump?

Its a little annoying, but there you go.

Whats inside Apples mystery box?

(You likely havent forgotten that.)

You dont get told what they are in the general spreadsheet, however.

You only see order numbers and transactions.

You Will Be Found(34) Second verse, same as the first.

For Forever (26) Everybody sure lovesDear Evan Hansen.

Again, I do love practicing my songs in the car.

The Bells of Notre Dame(24) I do a lot of theater, what can I say.

Finale(23) FromThe Hunchback of Notre Dame, of course.

Bring out the Kleenex.

Hellfire(23) Still one of my favorite audition songs (for certain shows, at least).

Elsewhere, in the AppleCare folder, you canview any and all repair requests youve madefor less-than-functional Apple devices.

I didnt, just so the archive wasnt huge, but its worth knowing that option exists.

You have a few options to limit what Apple collects, but you cant turn off the firehosesorry.

Scroll to the bottom of the Privacy screen, where youll find two additional options: Analytics and Advertising.

Tap on Analytics and turn off that which you are uncomfortable providing to Appleeverything, if youre feeling bold.
