Tell us a little bit about your family and your career.

Did life happen mostly as planned or were there surprises?

My husband, Cory, and I are parents to two beautiful children, Cree and Cairo.

How did you discover the allergy and how has the diagnosis changed the way you parent?

Ive had to change meals and snacks we make at home.

My main thing is I dont want my son to feel alone or different.

Avoidance is difficult because a lot of things are made with trace amounts of peanuts.

What are some of the routines you go through to ensure Cree stays peanut-free?

Especially when you are outside of your household, such as at school, playdates and restaurants.

Its important to know that we all play a role as co-protectors in being vigilant to prevent accidental exposure.

Has becoming a parent changed the way you work?

Do you involve your kids in your work?

Yes, I do.

At first I was a little hesitant in regards to wanting to protect them.

Cree jumped up and down when he appeared on myQuick Fix series.

He also comes to the taping of my new Netflix show and just loves it!

How do you decompress?

Yoga and a nice, hot bubble bath with candles and music.

What do you want your kids to learn from your example?

Whats the hardest part about being a parent?

Weve felt judged by others at a restaurant and questions come up at school all the time.

Has anyone ever given you a piece of parenting advice that has really stuck with you?

This advice came from a show runner that I was working with before I had kids.

She told me, How could the goose lay the egg if the goose doesnt take care of herself?

It has stuck with me for years.

How do you divide household/childcare responsibilities with your partner?

After being together for nearly 20 years, its a team effort at the end of the day!

We take turns making sure everything gets done.

What does your evening routine look like?

I start with consolidating all of my work emails from the day.

Then, I put Cree to bed.

I confirm he is showered and tucked in with some cute pjs.

Then I read him a book as he falls asleep.

With my daughter, Cairo, its the same routine.

My day always feels complete when I know my children are in bed and resting.
