My father was a boxer, so I grew up in a boxing family.
Its something that has always been a part of me.
In my senior year, I had a devastating knee injury that stopped my football career in its tracks.
Boxing once again became a larger part of my life, and I realized I could go pro.
There is always another way forward.
I then opened my own gym, though it didnt work out, eventually.
It was a time that really tested me.
Take us through a recent workday.
I wake up at 4 a.m. and start my day with an intense lifting session with my coach.
Then I shower, eat, and meet students at Gloveworx original flagship studio in Santa Monica.
I finish off the day with a yoga class before heading home.
I am not someone who needs a lot of sleepIm lucky in that way.
And Im so passionate about what were building with Gloveworx that I want to maximize each day.
What apps, gadgets, or tools cant you live without?

How do you impart your boxing and fitness skills to your trainers?
We are very selective when it comes to selecting new members to join our team.
Our trainers come from extensive athletic backgrounds, and are incredibly knowledgeable about strength and conditioning training.
We look for people who have a growth mindset.
Whats your best shortcut or life hack?
As an entrepreneur I have 500 things on my mind at all times.
Its impossible to do everything and still be present with my clients, who are always my first priority.
So, I collaborate.
How do you recharge or take a break?
I dont drink coffee, so I take very cold showers when I need extra energy.
Otherwise, I read articles about successful entrepreneurs who have built businesses from the ground up.
I dont drink coffee, so I take very cold showers when I need extra energy.
Whats the best advice youve ever received?
Dont make rash, emotional decisions based on a temporary mood or feeling.
Life has many ups and downs.
Sometimes things that seem negative can actually prove to be a huge, positive turning point in your life.
Whats a problem youre still trying to solve?
Gloveworx is growing at an incredibly rapid speed.
These people are family to me.
Holding onto that as we open additional locations is a challenge, but also a big priority for me.
We want to recreate that same feeling at every Gloveworx location across the country.
