I am a girl who loves a good electric saw.
MyRyobi chainsawis near and dear to my heart, but myelectric pole sawis straight-up magic.
For this,popup binsare perfect.
Use them when you need them, then compact them and stow them away.
Theyre super lightweight but surprisingly sturdy, so theyre easy to carry around even when packed to the brim.
Or not just one: You need different rakes for different purposes.
Get a softplastic rakefor leaves and the driveway, sidewalk, and other hard surfaces.
Opt for ahard rakefor dirt, compost, and rocks.
These aremyfavorite two rakes, but your rake needs may vary.
Forget trying to muscle leaves and weeds between your rake and gloved hand.
Just rake them into the dustpan and dump them.
My dustpan is always floating around my yard during cleanup season because I use it almost every day.
These things can turn on a dime and get into narrow spaces.
Every yard needs one.
I particularly likethis Fiskars modelthe grips are comfortable and won’t disintegrate in the sun.

Not to mention that leaving them allows the critters that live in the leaves a safe place for winter.
Then, all you gotta do is empty the sack youve been carrying on your shoulder.
The problem is, they do this in spring or summera bad move, in my humble opinion.
At that point it’s warm and youre spraying up microbes from the soil onto your plants.
So spray yourself silly, including your trellises and other garden tools, but do it in colder weather.
All my beds get treated in the fall, and I repeat it after every rainstorm.
Slugs won’t cross the copper, and the resulting look can actually be quite nice.
