Here are 7 incredibly scenic submerged forests from around the world. It is located 129 km from the city of Almaty and is 2,000 meters above sea level. It was created by the result of an enormous limestone landslide. Dried-out trunks of submerged Picea schrenkiana trees rise above the surface. Apparently, a dam was built around 25 years ago to prevent the recurrent flooding of the river valley. Still, the dead trees betray the lake’s recent past as a living forest....
These incredibly detailed, delicate and colorful paper-based sculptures were done by Russian artist duo Alexei Lyapunov and Lena Ehrlich. Amazing. http://peopletoo.ru/

He traded his skeleton for a disarticulated human skeleton online - a box containing 206 separate bones. He calls the resulting images “Stop the Violence.” Each shot takes a full day to set up. These boulders are classed as septarian concretions, and were formed in ancient sea floor sediments. For the oyster, this core is an irritating grain of sand. For the boulders, it was a fossil shell, bone fragment, or piece of wood. The original mudstone seabed has since been uplifted to form coastal cliffs. Similar boulders occur at Shag Point, and the nearby swimming beach of Katiki. [Text viaNew Zealand’s Information web connection]
Lake Retba or Lac Rose lies north of the Cap Vert peninsula of Senegal, north east of Dakar. This lake has an unusual color its pink. Lake Retbas pink waters are brought on by cyanobacteria in the water. The color is particularly visible during the dry season. The lake also has a small salt collecting industry and is often the finishing point of the Dakar Rally.
He is perhaps best known for his renewal of the technique of anamorphosis. He also does slant anamorphosis. Istvan Oroszs best creation is probably the one called Mysterious Island. Its a sketch of a seashore with a sail pushed along by the wind, and two men trekking. But if a cylindrical mirror is placed over the circular sun, a portrait of Jules Verne emerges.
If you loved those works, you will definitely love Richard Estes.

In my early years, I explored ravines and woods near my house. Often being late for dinner lost in another world. A serious interest in painting developed at 11 years old. As I recall, my first painting was of a rainbow trout. My parents hired local artists to instruct me privately during my teen years. A person who really taught good basics was Carl Christophersen. In painting lessons, Carl taught me to divide objects into shapes and planes with hard and soft edges....
