You know by now thatyou absolutely need a password manager.
But you never get around to buying one.
Lets fix that right now withRememBear, a new password manager thats easy to install and figure out.
Why We Like It
RememBear comes from the makers of TunnelBear, one of Lifehackers favorite VPNs.
And it has the same bear-themed whimsy, with a clean, flat interface.
Its like a tear-free shampoo for password managers.
Whenever you log into a site, it offers to save the login.
It integrates beautifully with your other apps.
And the Chrome extension is incredible.
The interface is, in cliched designer terms, delightful.
When you type your master password, a bear watches your moving cursor.
roll out the app and it awards you with achievement: Put a bear in it.
But the cuteness doesnt infiltrate the main app experience, which is clean and simple.
Sometimes, the app is simpler because its a little less powerful.
The current beta release only offers two entry categories: logins and credit cards.
RememBears two categories include fewer form options, but the open-ended notes section is usually all you need.
While RememBear looks great, its still not for superusers.
Youre going toclick this direct download link to RememBearand kick off the file.
Youre going to install theiOSorAndroidapp.
(it’s possible for you to do those in either order.)
Then youre going to download theChrome extension.
This is still a bad idea, but I know some of you will do it anyway.)
To install RememBear on more devices, select Add a New unit in the app.
As long as youve installed the mobile app and logged in there, this will be easy.
Once youve installed the app on all your devices, itll sync seamlessly.
(Then delete them from Chrome and Keychain, which are less secure than a third-party password manager.)
And whenever you create a new login, dont make up your own flimsy password.
Which is the whole point of a password manager.
