Android Doze is an unsung hero,saving your battery when youre not using your phone.

However, in both cases, it can take hours for Doze to kick in.

If you check your phone every hour or so, you wont get the benefits.

How Android Doze Works, and How to Tweak It to Save Your Battery

ItsAggressive Doze modeforces Doze to activate in minutes instead of hours, saving you a ton of battery life.

While Greenifydoesnt require root, youll need toenter a couple of ADB commandsto enable Aggressive Doze mode.

The first time you run Greenify, it will walk you through this processusing the steps here.

After this, Greenify will automatically enable Doze every few minutes or so.

If youre on Marshmallow, youll also get a lot of the benefits of Nougats Doze On the Go.

Unlike Greenify, it comes with a few extra options to make Doze work the way you want.

When you first run ForceDoze, it will check for root.

By default, this will make Doze kick in sooner than usual.

Disable motion sensing for Doze:This is similar to the Doze On the Go feature in Greenify.

ForceDoze allows a bit more customization than Greenify, but unfortunately, it doesnt support Android Nougat.

It offers most of the same customization options that ForceDoze and then some.

It also doesnt requre any cumbersome ADB commands like Greenify does.

Its set in milliseconds, so be prepared for a bit of math.

Location accuracy:This setting lets you customize how accurately your phone determines your location.

However, the basic features are already a huge boost over the standard Doze functionality for root users.

All of these apps approach do largely the same thing in slightly different ways.
