If you dont have any of this set up, refer back to the original guide before continuing on.
key in insudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.shand press Enter.
This loads up the Setup Script.
Select Update all installed packages, and press Enter.
Let RetroPie do its thing.
This can take around 20-30 minutes if youre not already up to date.
When its all done, select Perform reboot to reboot the system.
Thankfully, its very easy to add box art with software called a scraper.
You have a couple of different ways to add this data to your RetroPie.
The first method to try is the built-in scraper.
This requires that you approve the metadata manually.
Each game will pop up a prompt, tap A to accept the result.
Now, RetroPie will scrape for more information about all your games.
This way, the scraper scans for artwork and other data without requiring you approve each entry.
Scroll down to Configuration / Tools and press Enter.
Scroll down to Scraper and press Enter.
This will installSteven Selphs Scraper tool.
When the installation is complete, select Scraper again and press Enter.
Wait for the scraper tool to complete.
This can take a while, so give it some time.
They add in scan lines, a bit of blurriness, and even simulate screen curvature.
Heres how to set a shader for each game:
Start any game in RetroPie.
This pulls up the in-game menu system, which looks very archaic.
Select Quick Menu > Shader > Load Shader Preset.
Here, youll find atonof different shaders that change the way your games look.
Most people will be happy with the shader pictured above,crt-pi.glslp.
If youre not, experiment with the number of options available here to find one you like.
When youre done, select it with the A button and tap B to back out.
Select Apply Shader Changes and press the A button.
Tap B to back out of the menu, the select Resume to go back to the game.
Go ahead and reboot your Raspberry Pi to check that the effect is applied.
First off, you have to add themes to RetroPie manually.
Select Configuration / Tools and press Enter.
Select esthemes and press Enter.
opt for theme you want to install and press Enter.
Back in the Terminal, throw in inemulationstationand press Enter to restart RetroPie.
Tap the Menu button, then select UI configs > Theme Set to pick the theme you installed.
If not, refer back to ourinitial set up guide.
Select Choose Splashscreen and press Enter.
snag the file you copied over in step one.
Now, when you boot up your Raspberry Pi, it will display that custom image.
Back on your Raspberry Pi, exit to the command line (Menu > Quit).
jot down insudo nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfgand press Enter.
Now, youll get achievements in all those old games just like you do in modern ones.
