DrWhiskeyonthe citys subreddit:
We have a very active reddit community.
A few times a week, visitors post the we are coming to Nashville.
What should we do?
So much so, that we have good and up-to-date answers in our sidebar.
Butcherbakertoiletrymakeron burgers:
for the best burger in the history of the universe, go to Fat Mos.
Anyone who says Rotiers is dead to me.
There are always new releases, on site concerts, and just a really cool place to check out.
Andthis is a burner accounton another:
If possible, see a show at the Ryman.
Ryman Auditorium is downtown.
Its an old church thats been turned into a great concert venue.
Great acoustics, but avoid lower-level seats behind the posts holding up the balcony.
Vibe is hipster as hell, but I dont consider that a negative.
Couple locations, I go every time I visit.
Ive been twice, and honest to God it was too many times.
BenjaminDashleyclaims recent transplants should keep quiet, maybe even pretend theyve always been here.
Few people are hated here as much as transplants.
The scourge of transplants is probably mentioned in any conversation with a born-and-bred Middle Tennessean.
Nothing earns you a dirty look faster than saying youre from elsewhere.
And it comes up in most conversations with people you meet.
He also has some food recs:
Mafioszas pizza is good.
Burger Up is great.
Taco Mamacita is fantastic Tex-Mex, if a little pricey.
Skip Pancake Pantry and go to Biscuit Love down the street.
Or grab something from The Grilled Cheeserie.
Nashvillians dont wear cowboy hats.
This is a burner accounton breakfast:
Nashville loves breakfast.
Biscuits as big as a fist.
DMSentinel42adds:
verify to get an order of the Chronic Bacon.
A-Rayon hot chicken joints:
When visiting Nashville its an absolute must that you try some Hot Chicken.
If you want to really experience Nashville Hot Chicken, then go to Princes on Ewing Drive.
Family style dining, all-you-can-eat, and every single dish that touches the table is phenomenal.
East of Nashvilleon dives for locals:
3 Crow.
Show up in a Onesie or a ball gown.
The bartenders have a conversation with you and make what they think youll like.
El-Cornholiogives a full cultural itinerary:
Go to the Parthenon.
Check out the Frist art museum.
See a symphony performance - Schermerhorn is a world-class hall.
Do the honky-tonk thing (briefly), then head up the street and catch a Predators game.
Go to a local brewery or distillery - Jackalope, Black Abbey, Corsair, Yazoo, etc.
And for the love of God, skip Pancake Pantry.
Thoroughly overrated, especially if you wait in line.
RevJBlists a whole pack of places too:
Las Paletas on 12 South for Mexican popsicles.
Martins and Peg Leg Porker for barbecue.
Arnolds for meat and three lunch.
The Listening Room Cafe for listening to songwriters.
Radnor Lake for a walk/hike close by.
Pinewood Social for fun, hip, great food (and bowling!).
Little Donkey for tacos (and surprisingly, fried chicken).
Get a reservation at Husk for fine dining.
Papa Van Tweeadds:
Lane is a great place to go if you are a nutty car nut.
No Porsches or Ferraris here.
Lots of quirky vehicles from Europe and Japan that we never saw here.
Really, a lot of history youd rarely see if you went to a regular car museum.
It was right up my alley.
Head out to Radnor Lake, sayssatalac:
Radnor Lake is a hidden gem to travelers.
Spent many a day and Boy Scout projects out there.
And a great tip on relying on serendipity:
