First, figure out if there is a specific jot down of workout youd like to do.

So, lets get this down to the basics, so you have some options for each.

Youll want to ensure that your chosen mode of cardio is something that you dont hate.

Dancing or aerobics videos: a pair of comfortable shoes and a space to do the videos in.

Cycling: a spin bike or airbike.

Rowing: a rower.

If you have another favorite cardio machine, like an elliptical or a ski-erg, you get the idea.

Whatever you choose, verify you’ve got the option to try it out before committing.

Here are a few options:

If youve got the cash:a Peloton.

For a more modest budget:The Sunny SF-B1002.

For a basic running shoe: Try theAdidas SwiftRunorUnderArmour Charged Assert.

For a different key in of bodyweight push workouts, consider a place to do dips.

But you may also want to build pushing strength in other directions, like doing overhead or incline presses.

Weights really help here.

A set of dumbbells will let you do bench press, overhead press, and more.

Maybe one of these weights will do?

Banded pullups are another option, although I prefer the chair throw in.

To do pullups, youll need a pullup bar.

(Yes, even in an apartment; justpatch the holesbefore you move out.)

Another option, if you dont love pullups, is asuspension trainer like a TRX set.

you could use the TRX in a door frame, or you could hang it from your pullup bar.

Or go old school withgymnastics rings.

A way to work your legs

This one is tricky, because your legs arestrong.

Air squats wont keep you busy very long, and one-legged squats tend to be hard on the knees.

(Maybe its just me, but I wouldhateto build an exercise program around pistols or shrimp squats.)

Heavy weights are really helpful here.

The leg exercises fromour hotel gym workoutswill come in handy as squat and deadlift substitutes.

The biggest mistake people make when buying home exercise equipment, in my opinion, is going too light.

So consider saving up for a 50-pound dumbbell or more, or their kettlebell equivalents.

A 24-kilogram kettlebell (53 pounds) can give you a lot of options.

A 32-kilo (72 pounds) may be even better.

Another great option, if you’ve got the option to swing it, is a sandbag.

you might lift the bag, carry the bag, even squat while bear-hugging the bag.

Heres a50 pound dumbbell.

Maybe you want two.

This sandbagcan hold 100 pounds or more (BYOS but thats like $5 worth of sand).

Accessories

Everything else is optional, but may be helpful.

A yoga mat can be a nice touch in your exercise corner.

If youre really into jumping rope, ajump ropecan add to your cardio options.

If you want to challenge yourself with core training, anab wheelmay be up your alley.

Knock yourself out:

Heres anadjustable bench.

An ab wheel doesnt have to be fancy;this onewill do perfectly.
