After all, if it doesnt work, that means I can quit guilt-free.

But, goddamn it,it worked, and now I have to suffer the consequences.

Thats a dilemma for me to ponder on my own time, I guess.

4 pics of me doing a not-very-close front split. In the before pictures, my leg is even with the meaty part of my forearm. In the after pics, I’m clearly a few inches lower.

It took about 15 minutes.

If I can stretch further within a session due to my stretching technique, who cares?

Well, look at this:

These are my attempted front splits.

4 pics of me from the back, attempting to clasp my hands behind my back. In three of the photos (both befores and one after), I’m grasping a red shirt. In one of the after pictures, I’m able to touch my hands together without the shirt.

Thats the result of better hamstring flexibility.

So these days I rest my forearms on two chairs while actually working on this one.

What about upper body progress?

Left, before: my hands don’t quite reach my toes. Right, after: my fingers comfortably touch the floor. I’m a good 3 to 4 inches deeper.

Check this out:

Again, its subtle.

The difference is only about an inch.

Okay, one more.

This is an example of that within-session adaptation.

And yes, the differences after stretching are comparable as well.

The first day, after stretching I was able to get my palms on the floor with soft knees.

These days, by the end of a session I can often get my palms on the floor withlockedknees.
