A heads up about the tricky parts
ID and EGO do not go together.
VANITY does not describe a person who is self-obsessed.
OUTFIT does not describe what someone wears.
SHELL does not describe an exterior or a thing you might find on the beach.
What are the categories in todays Connections?

What are the yellow words in todays Connections?
The yellow grouping is considered to be the most straightforward.
What are the green words in todays Connections?
The green grouping is supposed to be the second-easiest.
What are the blue words in todays Connections?
The blue grouping is the second-hardest.
What are the purple words in todays Connections?
The purple grouping is considered to be the hardest.
That would match up with WARDROBE, CHEST, and CONSOLE, which are also types of storage furniture.
OUTFIT, STOCK, PROVISION, and FURNISH could all be verbs meaning to replenish stores of something.
That would fit with ID (Id) and WERE (were).
That leaves SELF, CHARACTER, BEING, and EGO, which all refer to ones consciousness.
Youll see a game board with 16 tiles, each with one word or phrase.
Your job is to select a group of four tiles that have something in common.
Select four items and hit the Submit button.
