I venture to eat healthy.
So I love when somebody else plans my meals for me.
Heres how to tweak Goops diet into a sensible 3-day meal plan.
This is a vitamin supplement made from rice bran.
You know how theres brown rice, and then theres white rice?
White rice has just had the brown stuff polished off.
That brown stuff is rice bran, and it really does contain a lot of vitamins.
So far so good.
But rice bran can bevery high in arsenic, as longtime Goop criticDr.
I left this out, andsaved myself $35in the process.
That means youre splitting an 8 ounce salmon filet, or a single chicken breast, between two people.
So I doubled up: Id eat awholechicken breast.
Look at me go!
Or sometimes Id make the two-serving meal and eat both halves.
Adjust this according to your own appetite.
Oh, and that matcha smoothie isamazingwith a scoop of whey powder.
Season to Taste
One thing that struck me early on: these meals are flavorful.
I like ginger, so Im not really complaining.
But a three-day shopping list thatcalls for half a pound of gingeris a bit much even for me.
Do the same with the cayenne if youre not big on spicy stuff.
Even the more involved recipes were quicker than your typical Blue Apron.
But a few of them have creative elements that I wasnt in the mood for.
and I definitely didntslice a butternut squash into tortilla-like taco shells.
And as long as were tweaking the recipes, we might as well substitute some ingredients, too.
(Also, its supposed benefit relates to its amino acids.
You know what can deliver more amino acids than a sprinkling of spirulina?
Literally any protein source.
Take an extra bite of chicken at dinner and you could skip the spirulina at snack time.)
and freely substituted lemons and limes for each other because Im a rebel.
Oh, and instead of mixing up my own turkey meatballs, I grabbed some frozenchili lime chicken burgersinstead.
Come at me, Gwyneth.
