Fish traps or weirs are one of the oldest methods developed for catching fish.
These were usually built of stones or wooden posts and utilizes the tides to trap fish within the walls.
The weirs also have to be maintained, because they eventually succumb to the tides.
Stone fish weirs were once an important source of economy of the fishermen in Penghu.
Twin hearts stone weir is the one of the best preserved stone weir in entire Penghu.
